No big donations. No Corporate Grants. Just nearly 500 people chipping to raise $12,940.40! THANK YOU!
Wow, when we sat down to plan the 10K by 10/10 Campaign we had an idea – lets turn to the incredible base of people that we’ve built through our organizing work to join us in fundraising to sustain this movement. And let’s do it in a way that makes fundraising as simple, easy and fun as possible! So we launched the 10K by 10/10 campaign to recruit 100 of our closest supporters to each go out and find 10 of their friends, family members, neighbors, co-workers and comrades to donate just $10. If we could do that, harnessing the power of the people, we would raise $10,000 to support the continuation and expansion of the housing justice movement here in Springfield.
The results are now in, and they have blown us away! More than 100 people “took” the 10K by 10/10 challenge. At least 489 different people made a donation. The average donation was $26.46 and 283 of the donations were one-time $10 donations! All together, each and every one of us chipped in to raise an incredible $12,940.40!Â
We can’t thank you all enough and look forward to continuing to grow and build this movement together with you all!
