My name is Edward Guczek. I live at 183 Roosevelt Ave., in Springfield, MA. My wife and I have lived in our home for 31 years. My wife and I had some medical tragedies in our lives causing us to fall behind our mortgage payments and ultimately our house was foreclosed on last year. We have been currently fighting an eviction for the last year and have been approved by Boston Community Capital to buy back our home.
Unfortunately, we have now lost our eviction case and have already received one 48 hour notice from the Sheriff in which we were able to get a stay of execution due to my wife’s physical condition. The Judge has already informed us that we cannot apply for any more stays of execution, even with my wife’s current medical condition. We have now been served our 2nd 48 hour notice for a physical eviction. My wife has a terminal neurological disease along with breast cancer. She just recently had surgery for the breast cancer and she is currently trying to heal from the process her body just endured. Our house is equipped to handle her physical needs and allow her to experience some comfort while she battles her severe medical issues. Removing her would be a serious health threat to her especially when we are making legitimate efforts to stay in the property.
