Both Ms. Williams and Hannah are long-time members of SNOL. Both members have been very successful in using our organizing model of the sword and the shield. Ms. Williams and Hannah won their 1st cases in Housing Court where the foreclosure was overturned. Both Midfirst Bank and Flagstar Bank refused to then work with the families on keeping their home and instead foreclosed again on these two members. Using both people power and the legal shield, both Ms Williams and Ms Wachira were again successful in beating back the banks attack and have once again had their foreclosures overturned. Now, we are once again pushing back on these greedy banks to modify the loans and secure the housing of these two beautiful fierce members of SNOL.
To date, SNOL has successfully secured;
124 modifications for our members to keep them from losing their homes;
31 of our members have won their cases in court;
28 of our members have successfully bought back their homes through our partnerships;
6 of our members received rental agreements after foreclosure; and
36 of our members have received offers to vacate of $10,000 or more!
