On Monday we passed the strongest anti-foreclosure legislation in the state. Last night, more than 50 residents fighting back against banks to stop no-fault evictions, accept rent and give loan modifications that include a principal reduction, came out for our weekly Bank Tenant Association movement building meeting. While we celebrated a big victory, we know our work is not done.
Families throughout Springfield are still being evicted by wall street banks that destroyed our economy, received billions in tax payer bailouts and refuse to work with families — even when they can afford to pay rent. Why evict a family that can pay rent?Â
Next monday, we will protest the foreclosure auction of the Miguel Jimenez in Forest Park by Bank of America. We will protest to make one thing very clear:  we will stand against anyone who plans to buy the house, including the banks, with the intention to evict the Mr. Jimenez or the tenants in the home.Â

We will stand in solidarity with the family to make the same thing clear: we will fight back against anyone, including the bank, who plans to buy the house withe the intention to evict the HIll Family from their home.Â
